Low Van Owners - Narrow Tyres To Fit So Low Suspension. 225/35 R20

Morning all,

I’ve just got the new So Low suspension from the lads at Transporter HQ. I’m planning to fit and fun it just above the lowest setting as I love the look.

However I’m currently running 275/45 R20 on my wheels which will 100% rub I’m told. Andy from Transporter HQ has recommended I go 225/35 R20 so that I don’t see any issues.

The wheels are Zito 935’s in a 8.5j width so I should just manage to get 225’s on there with a little stretch.

Has anyone else running air or low coil overs done this and can recommend what tyres they run?

Thanks,

Matty B

Have you got a pic of your setup with wheels at the lowest setting that it doesn’t rub on?

Hi guys,
I’m pretty sure they are an et35 offset wheel. I’m fitting the suspension tomorrow so will keep you posted. I’ve changed the tyres on the wheels to 225/35 R20 now so should be able to run it at the lowest setting. Assuming the front bumper/splitter allows me to!

Will post pics once I have it completed.

What brand of tyres did you go with and looking forward to seeing the pictures

Started work, all on and now setting it up. Have a mate fitting it for me who has access to a ramp as he works for Honda.

Happy so far, will post again when it’s done

Evening all,

Finally got around to taking some better pics of the van yesterday. I’m so happy with the result and the way she looks now. The rear is wound about 3/4 of the way down. Front is about 1/2 down but can’t go any lower with the front splitter I have.

It rides really well, much better than with just the lowering springs I had before. No bounce, but no real harshness either. It corners so much better and isn’t too firm at all. Fantastic setup and well worth the money in my opinion.

Really sets the van off well and the stance is now spot on.

Cheers,

Matty B

I've seen BMWs with the same stretched look and always wondered why they did it - didn't realise it was a wheel arch clearance thing. Does this cause an issue at MoT time?

Edited - just did some maths and realised this isn't a stretched tyre (must be an optical illusion on the 4th photo) and your tyre/rim mix is spot on. I bet it drives much better than the usual 20" set up you see which must really screw up the van's gearing. Nice look
