LPG slowly disappearing

As the headline states LPG filling stations gradually being fazed out so where's that going to leave the underslung tank brigade? Looking at old posts on here 2021 and as I'm in the midlands nearest to me now is 19 miles away, so where's it all gone wrong?

Taxation would be my guess, I remember when the government was pushing lpg and declared the prices would stay low for a few years the once the time was up the prices steadily went up, sure it was locked around 40p/L back then
I imagine Camper cooking can’t sustain the pumps without those cars running on it ??

I had to drive a lot further than 19 miles to find a new Calor gas bottle last time it run out!

Not sure why converters are still installing LPG when there are good diesel hobs that never need re-fuelling and have many other advantages.
