Manufacturers warranty differences

Always had to prod VW to honour their so called warranty for items such as rotten brake discs after 15 months, so imagine my surprise when our 64 plate Kia reverse camera steamed up and was replaced free of charge today one month before the 7 year warrant expires. Must also add this has been the only fault in 7 years.
Wish they did a decent van.

Most likely VW are driven by their warranty rules from VWUK. Every manufacturer has these. If the dealer replaces something and the VW auditor rejects that replacement, the dealer would have to foot the bill. Annoying though.

Sounds a bit like the tail wagging the dog.
The nice people at Kia saved me £670.00 plus vat plus labour and gave the car an absolutely perfect full valet in and out.
I have bought my last VW now and try not to darken their doorway if possible.
