Maxview Roam Campervan WiFi syatem

some stuff here:

.

I shoved a Starlink on my van! I object to being gouged by campsite wifi fees when I hit bad mobile signal areas. It even works at motorway speeds (to my boys’ delight!) The billing and service can be suspended too!

Yeah but that’s mega expensive.
What do you pay per month for the service?

From another thread….

I could use one of these

And one of these

But I’ve no idea how to power the router?

Can you add time limited guest access to the starlink router? I could see a nice little side line presenting itself on those gouging poor signal campsites:whistle:

What are you trying to achieve, what problem are you wanting to solve?

I want reliable connectivity for working remotely.
So good 4g connection and wifi in the van.
My work is largely MS Teams and secure connection into the office.

I’m so with you on that one! We tend to get green-eyed monster dirty looks instead!

Then, you want a Starlink! I spent a day WFH on Teams without an issue!!!

It’s £95 a month though and I probably will only use it (for working from the van) for about 2 days a month

Drop me a DM and I’ll give you a WhatsApp, FaceTime or Teams call tomorrow to show you my setup

How much is your broadband at home? Senior management couldn’t believe it when I demonstrated it was faster than our FTTC at home!

BTW, our cabinet is 50’ from our house!!!

I have BT fibre at home that serves the while
Family with no issues at all (we have Sky Glass so all TV is streamed with no issues, ). Think it’s about 60/month.

I don’t mind the setup cost of starlink, but the monthly is quite high for how often I would use it from the van.

I’ll DM you tomorrow .

I’m not selling….just trying to give you options

While the van is parked up at home you could use the Starlink there too.

I work from my van about 3 or 4 times a month from all over the south just for some different views. I'm a technical director at a development agency so don't need anything super fast other than teams and zoom calls.

I have a kuma 4g router (puck antenna on the roof) and a starlink mini. The 4g is good for the kids to watch tv and game in the van but never quite stable enought for work.

Starlink is flawless and worth the £50 (50gb is plenty for me) for the stability and speed it gives.

We also spend a lot of time down the beach and on sites where 4g is crap no matter what antenna you have.

Starlink for me, is a bit like apple products. They are expensive but 'just work' without faff.
