Media System ??

Hi to all,

New to the forum myself and if poss can anyone advise me whats is wrong please,
The media system in my 2018 T32 switches straight off as soon as we switch off the ignition where as in my previous motor VW Caddy Maxi Life 2013 the music could be played until a determent time ie 15 minutes then it would switch off,
Can I change the time in switching it off anywhere to extend the delay?
Thanks ND

When you say switch off ignition is that just turn the key to off or remove the key?
As you correctly say, mine will stay on for approx 15 mins when ignition is turned off as long as I do not remove the key.
Remove the key and it stops immediately.

Check to see if you have a MOLL starter battery. Any issues cranking the engine?

Have you got a dash cam or something else pulling power with the ignition off? It's def a power related issue, if it's not a low battery you have parasitic power loss causing the stereo to shut down

I use a Nextbase dash cam but this fault was happening before we started to use the cam but under the passenger seat there was a couple of loose connecting wires with a jack plug ends lying in there and they are not connected to anything and also attached to the battery there has been a couple of extra wires going to it that go to a little unit underneath the wiper arm plastic cover panel with nothing coming out of it poss looks like a tracker ?
History of the van is
Just bought it from Lookers main dealers 3 months ago and it was one of their sister company's vehicle (Get vehicle rental ) and they look like they had some electrical wiring for equipment of some sort installed possibly for or by the people who rented the van from them
PS I am an ex garage owner with some knowledge of vehicles but mainly accident damage repairs resprays and routine servicing but used to hate the electrics and we used a auto electrician to do that sort of work hence my problem wiith this

Dash cam is powered at the moment via the cig lighter on the dash and removed when the van is swtiched off never left on

Hmm that's jogged my memory, there was someone else on here that bought an ex-rental van and found a little tracker wired into the loom somewhere

Its strange as it wired direct from the battery terminals and into the void at the bottom of the windscreen where the wipers are under the plastic panel , about 9 inches of wiring, 2 wires going to it

Here is something that happened a couple of weeks ago which makes me think something is wrong as well, We drove from Newcastle upon Tyne down to Windermere about 2.5 to 3 hours drive and as we approached Windermere the stop start feature started to work by itself when we in the town part but it has never ever come on before since we have had the van (3 months) and then it went off again by itself,
And it has never worked again since then, could this be related to the low power for the media system ???
