MFD woes - Rear side door showing 'open' then closed repeatedly on the dash display.

It flashes repeatedly on and off with the associated 'Bing'... Despite door being closed, contacts cleaned, wiring checked, battery disconnected (for 10 mins)
I have also tried it by disconnecting the door lead to the 6 pin brassy contact plates. It still shows the driver side passenger door being open the closed then open....hold then repeat! Very annoying especially at night as the interior lights come on.
Fortunately the lights and MFD display goes off after about 8 minutes if I lock the door. Only to 'arc up' again if I start and drive off...

Ok I found the solution. On the T6 Caravelle there is a 'Button' switch mounted on the rear body pillar door frame. Turns out it's faulty... in the meantime I added some sponge rubber adhesive floor protectors that you would ordinarily use on stools to protect a wooden floor! Anyhoo the obvious benefit is that the 'button switch' is depressed further and thus shows the door as 'closed'!! Job done we hope.
