Mirror adjustment

I'd been taught to look over my shoulder in addition to checking the mirrors when changing lane. Obviously in a panel Van you can't do that and in a combi by the time you've done that you could be running into the vehicle in front of you.

So, I've adopted the strategy below. This works perfectly for the off side but still leaves a blind spot on the near side.

I wondered what you guys do to avoid blind spots.

As a (sadly) ex-biker I'm always looking over my shoulder, but I also have a couple of those little aspheric stick on blindspot mirrors that can be swivelled to get them just right .
