MPG - 4Motion

199 4mo T6 here, and getting 29-31 mpg on long journeys after about 12k. Driven conservatively in an attempt to "boost" the mpg a bit so it doesn't look so bad to the other half, but i think it's still pretty lame
What wheels do you run? Mine was much lower when I had 19s fitted.

Currently running the standard 17s, and the 39.5mpg was sat at 110kph on the motorway

I’m running the standard 17”s and tend to stick to the speed limits, on a longer run it will achieve between 34-35 especially if you use some throttle sense.. Don’t think that’s too bad for a 4 wheel drive van...

It's the same on summer 20"s and winter 18"s. I suspect if i stuck to 110kph it would gain a few mpg, but i don't tend to go too much faster than that

I'm only getting 24.5mpg out of my 2015 plate Amarok so the T6.1 4motion will be better than that at least.

Mine is the 4motion DSG 199 and im getting around 20
went on a 41 mile round trip on A roads and it returned 29.1mpg covered 41 miles average speed 23mph driving time 1:46h. this is with 2 passengers and nothing but three mountain bikes in the rear.
having owned a 2013 bluemotion 114bhp for the last 6 years and averaging 34mpg fully loaded.
I hate to think what i'll get once once i've got all my tools in the van.
I'll really have to scale down my tools.

I have around 4700 miles on my 21 plate DSG 4motion and I have averaged 29.5mpg
Mostly empty in the back, occasionally a few electric mountain bikes or a motorbike.
I'm happy with that, much better than my Amarok was.

Hi just bought a lovely t6 caravelle 4mosion from Wales to derdy 200 motorway Miles and to my shock avarage mpg came on saying 25,8mpg can this be right at steady 60 to 70

Which engine? If it is a 204 then I'd say that is a tad low but not by much. My 204 4motion Kombi averages less than that, but then doesn't do any motorway work really.

Sounds a little low, my 4Motion kombi would average 35 over that type of journey. If you haven't already I'd check the tyre pressures, I've never purchased a vehicle that didn't need some air in the tyres and it does sap the MPG.
Next thing I'd do is check the MPG doing brim to brim calculations, the display can be out by a fair margin.

Silley me whent back on it and pressed ok on sterling wheel and is now around 32mpg around town and I'm still a bit exited with my foot as Love The pover

300miles in on new 199ps 4motion dsg getting 22.3 mpg and I’m driving on economy mode like I’m driving miss daisy. Hopefully things loosen up or I’m getting a tow ball fitted to tow a fuel bowser to get from a2b
Even filled up with shell ultimate
Mines was same at the start. Getting about 420 now at 7k miles.

Mine is a Diesel 4 motion (140bhp?) and I got 53mpg other month sticking behind a lorry on the motorway doing a constant 60mph.
Regards Stephen

Mines a 2021T32 199 4motion and yesterday I did a round trip of 400 motorway miles with the cruise on at 55mph towing a trailer with car and got 22.2mpg.
