NASA marine bm-2 battery monitor

Morning dubers.. quick one I’ve the bm-2 unit and it says to run + wire from the starter battery to the leisure battery with a small inline fuse! Do I need to run a - wire as well as nothing really shown or explained in the instructions cheers in advance

That's not correct, you wouldn't join the starter battery to the leisure battery in this way.

Sorry from the starter battery to the sunt which the battery monitor is connected to as per the instructions

That's an optional connection to monitor the starter battery voltage. To use it you'll have to add your own cable as it isn't supplied. Connect from the starter +ve with a small 2a fuse, to the screw terminal block on the BM2 display panel. Use the orange terminal. It doesn't connect to the shunt.
