I am in no way attempting to talk negatively about any company or spread a negative opinion, I’m just interested in other people’s experiences…

I recently bought some Navis Twin 5’s in THQs Black Friday sale, absolutely love them, but there are quite a few imperfections in the paint which I’m disappointed with. I have raised this with them and they said it’s just how they are, it’s impossible to get a flawless finish, but happy for me to send them back if I’m not happy.
The imperfections are small and probably wont be seen when fitted, and I don’t want to return them (due to effort and loving the wheels in general) but it’s still disappointing.

I wondered if other people who have had these wheels have similar imperfections? Or have I just been unlucky? Am I being too fussy?

Included some photos from 2 of the wheels..

Nope, those are imperfections! If you’d bought them from “Fred in t’shed” I’d understand. (Well, in fairness, Fred would probably ask for them back to fix!)

Have THQ seen those pics? Not being flawless is one thing, but I would hope they wouldn't be happy sending out wheels with those imperfections.

Yes, I sent them those exact photos. They said all the wheels they sell including rotiform have the same marks. I’d see if they exchange them but if the new ones would be the same is there any point?

Hmm maybe  I was hoping everyone else’s were perfect and I could just exchange them :notworthy:

They’re being very helpful so I’m confident it’ll get resolved, just not sure how yet..

I've no experience of Navis wheels TBH, but they are popular with forum members and it seems inconceivable to me that everyone would just accept that level of quality. So, on that basis, maybe you have a 'Friday afternoon' set. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'd send them back , they wouldn't be good enough for me .
I've bought plenty of wheels in my time and they're crap for the money .

Do have more reasons for that opinion or just going off my photos?

Most of those look like imperfections under the paint, as if the wheel wasn't finished properly or was contaminated prior to the paint going on.

Definitely shouldn’t be accepting that as brand new wheels from the factory mate. I’d be asking for a replacement set if it were me.

If that’s not an option for whatever reason (can’t think why it wouldn’t be) then a refund, & I’d look to buy a set elsewhere. @T6 LYE has a lovely set of Canteras up at the minute I think

the paint finish is even worse on

I’ve had a couple of sets of their steel wheels, finish is terrible , as for rotiform wheels I’ve had two sets and they’ve always been top notch never anything like that .

Those are like poor ‘seconds’ that a company would clear out at a discount.
Claiming that all wheels are like that is simply nonesense and they are fobbing you off.
Possible that the Black Friday sale is a way of offloading their crap.
That had crossed my mind actually ☹️

If I recall, there were similar concerns with the Navis Schmoov when they were released. The wheels used in the promotional pictures had been refinished by Duchy (for the owner of the van used, on here..). They were immaculate but when the production wheels came out the finish left a lot to be desired.

I have a habit of only finding negative reviews after buying something  … As silly as it sounds I did wonder if I could get a partial refund to cover having them refinished/repaired. They said as they were already discounted as part of Black Friday that wasn’t an option .
