New member - Ex-RAC lwb T6 Bought

Hi everyone Neil in Pembrokeshire - just bought. Lwb T6 from Merthyr Auctions- Automatic only 62K on the clock and immaculate outside - but has a speed limiter ! Maybe stupid question but how do I get it off ! Will do a conversion- have done a crafter before - I’m a physicist which means in theory I’m smart but in practice I’m often seriously dumb - so advice welcome !!

Do you know if the speed limiter is a hard-wired or software controlled? For the latter, you need a forum member with VCDS (or similar). Not too sure about the hard-wired version though - perhaps the search function will help, as I'm sure this will have been discussed previously.

Haha - has already happened - was going to do a basic build but already seeing things and go oooh that looks nice !

You need to find someone with VCDS or the equivalent and have them take it off

How much is it likely to cost - roughly ball park figure and is it worth remapping to increase the power ?

VCDS is a plug-in diagnostic tool, so if you find someone local, it’ll be the cost of a beer.

Mapping is a different beast and will cost you circa £400.
