New phone pairing

Hi all,
I’ve got a ghosting head unit that struggles in some areas of the screen with touch screen workability so have been using my phone via car play for maps etc. I need to remove the head unit and send it for repairs but haven’t got round to it yet and since picking up my new phone today realise I should have! Can pair the phone but it wont let me do the final connection as although the right hand twiddly knob works for some things which has been getting me by it doesnt work for what I need to connect the phone - typical!

Anyone know of a work around to do this?

Annoying but not the end of the world until I get the head unit repaired.

Thanks in advance

Had the same with a new phone try connecting once pair code comes up the ok touch screen does not work, but seems to work on other parts of the screen.
You had any joy??

Just needs a new screen. There is no work around. We can do this whilst you wait.

Someone said rubbing a bit of olive oil on the screen helped. I never tried that, I just replaced the entire front panel with a spare unit I had.
