Hi all. I require a new starter battery and I’ve read the thead on upgrading which I’m thinking of doing. If I do go down that route is the someone that can code it in local to me Dn14 area. 5 mins from jct 34 off the M62 for beer money. Or can I do it myself?
Alternatively if I go with a standard battery can I just swap it over like for like and not need it coding in?
Many thanks.

You are meant to reset to zero so that the system can "learn" about the new battery. However, I never bothered when I changed the battery some 2 years ago and I never noticed any difference. Apparently it will learn without being recoded but just takes longer.

Thanks, and was this a larger battery or swapping like for like?

Had complete battery failure in a French supermarket car park, so just chose a physical size that was a bit bigger than the original but still fitted and all was well. If you search for "moll" in the forum you will learn why the battery failed!!!

I'm in S70, J36 M1 if that helps

Thes are batteries I’m looking at. The first three are standard and the second two are what I believe to be the next size up. Any thoughts on these before I make the jump.

Are you able to code a bigger battery in?
should be able to. FYI I fitted an Exide EK950 to my T6, which is physically the biggest battery that will fit. It's tight, but it does fit. We use our van all year round, including in the Alps, so we need plenty of cranking capacity. 3 years on & all good.

I'm thinking I may as well get the bigger one whilst at it. It’s not much more money. If I get the OBDeleven I should be able to code it in? Thinking I may as well buy one as I then have one to do other things I’m sure.
What model do I need to get if anyone can help please. Is it this one at £49.99? Do I need to pay each time I want to do something on it or is that just certain things?

@Pwood811 How did you get on with this? I think my battery needs replaced due to struggling to start/not starting in the cold weather, so wanted to see about fitting a bigger battery, but no idea on the coding side of it.

I only just got round to fitting the battery at the weekend. It’s a tight fit bit no harder than any other battery I’ve fitted. Definitely worth doing for the marginal extra expense.

Regarding coding. I think I have done it but I need to check on OBDELEVEN. The screenshots on a guide I followed were totally different to what I had on mine. I was going to post about it when I got chance.
I’ll try and check and post later this evening.

So this is the screen I came to on OBDELEVEN. I changed the last six digits to the date installed everything else I left the same. I removed a 75 or 80ah battery and put this 95ah in its place.

I feel I haven’t managed to get to the correct menu but I followed the steps on a thread on the forum.
