Hello learned members of the T6 forum. I've had my 6.1 since November and slowly trying to learn all about it. Had my first night away this week which wasn't an absolute success but we learn and we move on! Realised I do need a bit more space though so wondering about an awning/canopy .. nothing too fiddly to put up or too big ... just something to sit under when we do eventually get some sun! I don't know if I've got a rail already so I've added some pics of what I do have - front view and rear view. Can anything be attached to this?
Second thing is my spare van key ... given to me with just the fob and no ignition bit ... how might i get a replacement? Thirdly ... pop top question... mine appears to unzip most of the way round and it has poppers on the bottom but darned if I can see anywhere where they might pop onto to hold the canvas up! Any ideas? All the pics have gone on in the wrong order but any help or advice very much appreciated. Thankyou :) 20250302_124618.jpg20250302_124317.jpg

The bottom 2 pics show a Reimo multirail, which would allow you to attach either a "drive away awning" or a more simple sun awning to the van, using what is known as a Kadar strip. A "drive away awning" can be bought in various sizes, depending on what you intend to use it for.

Can't help with the rest though.

Thankyou :) that's great to know and will help with my search. Cheers!

You can buy replacement key fobs on ebay with a blank bar that will need cutting out proffesionally. But you just need a new blade cutting. Timpson do a service for this. Take both keys and they either stock or order in replacement fobs. It doesn't cost a fortune as it's just a replacement blade that needs cutting. Your fob doesn't need reprogramming as the innards will just fit into a new fob so you're good. I need to do mine too but am procrastinating

Ok, thankyou :) I'll have to try and remember to take both fobs with me next time I pop to Morrisons!

Something to bear in mind.... quite a few campsites I've looked at seem to have a limit set for the size of pitch. Including guy lines, our set-up needs a pitch width of approx 8 metres, and 6mx6m seems to be the limit for some sites. It'll pay to do lots of research before parting with any money.....

Indeed. I was wondering how sites might look at these add ons, whether you have to book a bigger pitch, pay for 2 pitches etc etc I guess the answer is to have a selection of different awning sizes and book campsites according to their rules on them :p ! Might need to win the lottery first though!

Our awning cost approx £650 from Go Outdoors, a bank holiday deal for members and an added 10% off with my partners "Blue Light" card, so maybe just a few quid on a scratch card rather than Euromillions required. ;)

I am selling an Outwell sun canopy that'll do the job. The ONLY reason I am selling it is a swapped my T6 for a T6.1 Weinsberg and it does not fit the new van. It's a great awning minutes to erect and few of us have them. Unfoirtunately thy do bot do a 2.6m high version or I'd bit their hand off.

Looking at £150 + postage.

Why not look at our events calendar, come to one of the festivals (camperjam, Busfest etc) they always have a key cutting and replacement service at the show.

With regards to the poppers, take a look at the top of the pop top. near the roof. If it's a scenic pop top, these might used to hold the canvas up, rather than securing it down.
