About to have a go at this as I've bought an nibbler attachment and just want to know what it was you used to modify the tool? Dis u grind it with something or just file? Thanks

Yes I put it in a vice and used an angle grinder to put a flat on it down to the centre bar. That enabled me to put the flat spot on the inner frame and just push the nibbler around and it did a flush cut with. I sharp edges.
