Newbie

Hi, I’m new to this forum and just wanted to introduce myself. I’m based in Essex and own a 2004 SWB T5, so I hope you don’t mind me joining a T6 Forum group! I’ve had it for about 5 years and have been doing a budget build myself. I’ve joined this forum as it looks to present some good opportunities with regards to modifying, sourcing and advice.
I use my T5 on a weekly basis but in the race season we use it to travel to the race tracks as we are “professional motorsport spectators!”. I’m looking out for local meetings and other owners to connect with, there seem to be plenty of Transporters in Essex but not many meetings.
I also hope to be able to use the sales/ wanted section as I have a few bits to sell/give away. If it helps other local members I own a SMART Repair company in central Essex that caters for cosmetic repair work and have a number of contacts regarding the bodywork side of things and would happy to help or give advice.

Welcome Pete, lovely looking van, you'll certainly never be an outsider with a T5, it has certain advantages over the newer vans! If you have any Smart Repair contacts in the West Midlands my wifes Evoque suffered a scratched bonnet in the recent windy conditions, she is more car proud than me!

Welcome Pete, lovely looking van, you'll certainly never be an outsider with a T5, it has certain advantages over the newer vans! If you have any Smart Repair contacts in the West Midlands my wifes Evoque suffered a scratched bonnet in the recent windy conditions, she is more car proud than me!

I’ll be sticking to the tarmac for now, I used to prep an RS2000 for road rally back in the day. Lovely roads in wales though, I’ve got family north of Carmarthen.

I know around their, some very good roads indeed. I think that their is a rally supply business in the Llandysul region. Their used to be rally schools in the Tregaron area and further north but I do not see them advertise these days. One often sees escorts displaying their Cibie's in Wales. We have some friends who go to some of the big events.

I’ve Two Smart repair companies that come highly rated, one is called Swift Smart Repair and the other is called Freash Car Smart Repairs. I don’t know them personally but they have good rating on the google. Hope this helps, let me know how you get on. Cheers, Pete.
