No sound via speakers when phone rings

When my phone is connected to the van, everything works as it should, Spotify, phone etc but when the phone rings it is silent, the screen shows caller etc but no sound through speakers like it used to . Anyone any idea ? 2017 Highline, standard stereo

I had the same thing recently. I have an Android S8 phone with custom ringtone (Old phone).
After a visit to dealer who said they had tried with iphones and all worked ok they suggested it was my phone.

I fixed it by sifting through phone settings on the "infotainment" display (I have a T6.1), and changing the ringtone to something else.

I suspect a software update on my vehicle caused the issue.

I have been into settings but can’t find ringtones although I’m sure it was showing a few years ago when I changed phones, bloody annoying

I'm not sure if custom ringtones can be uploaded to the media unit I have fitted but my normal one isn't available.
