Not posting much as on holiday (and not in the Caravelle) but I did bring the NoCo Boost GB70 with me just in case.

And just managed to start this

Long story short the engineering train stopped to let the steam past and then found they had a flat battery, and thier spare was also flat. It would be another hour until a train could bring another or the other diesel get here so some random bloke (ahem) offered to get a van sized jump pack from the car...

First two attempts (safe mode and all out mode) failed but then we had a theory that it might be a bad earth so connected the NoCo directly across the starter motor on all out mode while the ignition was then engaged and it roared into life.

Possibly the largest engine started by a NoCo? It didn't even drop the battery meter on the NoCo at all.

It's a 10 ton loco with a Perkins 6-354 engine, looks like 5.8l 150hp

Anyway I think the railway are buying a NoCo now...

Great endorsement. After a week in Ireland camping and waiting at the ferry port to return our t6 failed to start. Low battery! - completely out of the blue. Got a jump to get on the boat, so will definitely be getting a GB70 for trips now. Cheers

Yeh I love mine and have helped out many many people over the time I had it since seeing Dellmassive raving about them. Had a 50 then moved to a 75 and the 50 sits in the wife's bus as well.

I am sure NoCo would love to hear that story. I know if it was my firm or I worked in Press/PR I would love to hear about it.......

It's Lee's older GB70 that I've got

They're handy things to have around. I've always carried some form - used to be the bulk older SLA Lead Acid ones - not so much for myself but it's a much easier way of helping folks out than trying to park close enough to use jump leads.

They're not miracle workers and will not revive a stone dead battery, neither should you assume the battery is OK after being so low, but they're an extra edge and very useful as a fall back power supply for other things in their own right.

GB70 here.. mainly from Land Rover ownership. Used to start the 4.4 SDV8 Diesel without breaking sweat!

Great tool to have to hand, I have one of the older one's and the only gripe is the slow charge times.
