Noob changing wheels, low-pro to semi-swamper - will these fit?

Inspired by @t6blo's GOJOS setup but wanting to not hit the MPG too much I am hoping to swap out my EXISTING 255/40/r20 for NEW 235/65/r16 on my T28 camper.

Will They Fit checks out ending up with nearly the same diameter/circumference, hardly any gap loss and ride height change which is good because I'm currently lowered 40mm (plan to raise at next project).

But before I start the process of selling in to the wife on spend I would love some input from an elder that...

These r16 GOJOS and these Michelin Agilis Crossclimate (235/65R16 115R) will be happy together? Comes in at just under £1k fitted.

Pic of van as it stands.

Thanks to anyone that cares to chime in :)

Not sure you’ve put the correct offset and width in for the existing wheels - surely they’re 8 or 9J?

I appreciate that larger tyres will effect your MPG and speedo but I wonder if the 235/65/16 might just look a little lost once you've lifted it?
You can easily fit a larger tyre on, even lowered 40mm. Going a touch larger will make a minimal difference to your economy and will be unlikely to make your speedo under read.

You’re right! Not sure on width of them tbh - wasnt that concerned as they’d be coming off and I knew the GOJOS fit because of your post so it’s more of a sketch comparison :)

My mind went there too, but conscious of going too far from OE specs and the effect on torque - I do want it to be able to tackle rough and potentially steep roads in mountains… overthinking it?

I've gone bigger and while it does effect the torque on my 140 it's only been particularly noticeable when towing. Everywhere else it's irrelevant, IMO.

Thanks for the reply - good to know, but I'm going to run with that wheel size - do love the oversized look but would rather retain acceleration over top speed and reduce the strain on the drive chain. Should still be enough air in them on top of the 16's to pad out the potholes and rocks.

Wanting to get them ordered now, given you've got experience and this is my first ever wheel purchase, have I got the tire sizing right for the wheel?

A 235 tyre on an 8” wheel is ideal https://www.tyres-pneus-online.co.uk/tyre-equivalence-advice.html
