OE source question

Hi All, I'm getting a little sick TBH in my search for a single seat to replace my dual passenger one. Considering the price I'm going to have to pay to get the match I want it crossed my mind that it could be better and maybe cheaper all round to get a brand new one from VW or whoever supplies them, fitting the spec. I want to match the driver's - T6 2019 DSG LWB 199PS, single, Captain's seat, heated, nappa leather. The plan is to make both swivelling eventually, but for now I'd be happy to get the passenger seat before the wife's back goes!
Does anyone have any pointers, please? Surely new seats are available - after all, where do repairers and converters source the seats?

We normally source them from companies that bring them into the country from Europe, but with the quarantine rules, none are coming in so prices are through the roof. They are normally about £800+vat

Thanks for the reply Oli. I'll PM you too, but for the watchers, it seems then for the time being it'll maybe be best to buy the wife a back brace and turn up the radio? (Lol to myself ... I wouldn't dare or she'd stop my van money)

You can buy a recline kit for the front double. Or just put 10mm spacers along the front fixing bolts, just this small amount of rack makes the double more comfortable.

Thx for the tip Oli. I'll go down the spacer route tomorrow and research the recline too. Should tide us over for for a while. Maybe once winter's over the supply chain might have recovered.

Do T5 Cotswold Parts have anything?
Thx for that dubber36: been lurking all over inc them ... I think someone used the term "rocking horse sh" etc, a little while ago! I messaged NW Transporters following Oli's pointer, but it's Saturday so will probs have to wait until Monday for a reply. Don't hold out too much hope just now though ... trying the 10mm packing trick suggested to get over the immediate comfort issue, but the single seat I need anyway including ready access to the back & reducing theoretical seat number from 9 to 8.
