I got my transporter from ‘unique transporters’ in farnham.
It was a pretty good experience, with them doing work that was agreed and helping to sort a few buts that came up after purchase (ie new advlue pump etc).
They had a selection of wheels, we wanted the calibre fives as I liked the sporty look of them.
Anyway, roll on a year later and some 5k miles, I’m looking at suspension upgrades, and in doing so got into looking at tyres sizes etc, realizing that not only did they fit 102 load rated tyres for a t32, but upon fitting rear spacers yesterday also realised tge alloys are not 9j but, 8.5J (well, at least the rears are, I haven’t checked the fronts, but assume they will be the same and not fitted back to front?).
I noticed the tyres always looked pretty ‘square’ on the tim, but also assumed this is due to them being ‘budgets’, but now I see, the reason the tyres look flat or square against the rim is that they are probably too big for the rim!!
So, are they unsafe? Did the dealer send me on my way a year ago with non-load rated, unsafe tyres that I’ve been bombing around in all year? Or, are they OK?
At this point, I really have no clue, it seems even 255 40 20’s I was going to replace with in the future are too big also!!!
#confused?
Should I insist they are changed by the dealer as they sent me off with incorrect tyres? I mean, it even passed an MOT in May and nothing was said? So they mat just day its not unsafe and a matter of opinion, and as its been a year to do one?
Any ideas?
