OK/Reset Button Not Working on MFD

Hi,

Proud new owner of a 2017 Shuttle SE which I picked up at the weekend.

All good so far except one niggle.

The OK/Reset button on the wiper stalk (used for the MFD) does not seem to work.

I can scroll up and down using the arrows on the end of the stalk but cannot actually select or reset anything using the OK/Reset button.

Am I missing something or have I just got a faulty button and therefore need to look at replacing the stalk?

If I need to replace then it might justify an upgrade to a MFSW instead if that would provide the same functionality!

Not sure there is much I can do about this other than replace the stalk.

I do have VCDS. Is there a way to run some kind of diagnostic or reset in VCDS?

Hi, not had the van long and only just started playing with VCDS.

I had a look at those faults - looked like they were quite old (well before I bought the van) and the frequency was low so figured they were resolved. Didn't try clearing them as wanted to see what they looked like in a few weeks - was interested to see how the reset counter works.

I'll do another scan now as I've driven it a few times since. I'll clear the codes as well.

Haha , I have much to learn :)

Just been out and cleared faults and run through a few start stop cycles.

The ignition starter switch fault has not come back.

The interior monitoring fault reappears straight away.
 
Just been playing around with VCDS some more. Found advanced measured values under instrument panel.

Was able to watch the MFD up and down buttons working but nothing happened when pressing the ok/Reset button....

I think you got to the bottom of your problem.
Sounds to me like a faulty microswitch.

Ok, cool, thank you for taking the time to help.

Was a good first trial of VCDS for me at least. I'm planning a MFSW upgrade anyway so the stalk buttons will be obsolete for me at that point so I'll just live with it in the interim.
