Did you sort one out in the end mate??
I’m thinking of getting one myself. £1980 at the moment but was thinking of making one myself.

We did get one, from a forum member.

And think it's awesome.

But left this thread open for others.

We use as a bed system with camping gear in the slider.... working very well ATM.

Have a look here....

I too think they are a great system. I know @Chippie1 is using one too.
After I sold my last T5 of 13 years of ownership I leased a Transit Custom and built my own racking. That went back after the 3 years was up and now after nearly after a year’s ownership of the Vw I’ve decided the Ovano will be perfect for me.

It was the price that put me off, so built one for a fraction of the price and to my specs to fit my work kit as they only come in a fixed size.
Not knocking the quality or looks of ovano but I would trash nearly 2 grand of kit at work !

Yeah I can get a sheet of phelonic ply for £120 like in my above picture. I’m very capable of building an Ovano set up for under £500.
Watch this space lol.
That was my thoughts too then I saw the cadco one with a better looking price, closer to the £500 I reckon it would cost me to build one. Don't normally have time but at the moment the film industry is on strike so I've plenty of spare time ☹️

Fancy breaking yours down for templates?
I’ve found 220kg drawer runners at 1500mm long the same as Ovano ones for £130 plus Axminster tools sell the LAMELLO CABINEO 8 M6 joint system for the joints.

I went down the forty winks route and just grabbed the slideaway tray this week. Probably not far off ovano money but have to say very well engineered. I did’ t need bulk head facility and for me one fold of the forty winks bed and I can get a bulk bag in the back. Used the slide tray (Ali checker plate) in anger this weekend and have to say it works really well. Can get at all tool boxes etc much easier than scrambling in the back. almost designed for the height of dewalt tough system clearance wise. No rattles either and Ryan is a nice guy to deal with.

TBH I’m just thinking of buying a LWB Ovano as booked up with work but I’ll definitely break it down as my mate has a factory where I can copy parts easily. It’s ‘Only’ £1980 for what I need but I’ll be happy to help others.

They are always popping up online on here and on eBay etc.... but you might have to wait a while.

What about the CADCO and other cheaper suppliers?

They're are tons around now. Some less than 1k.

The LWB CADCO comes in at £1615 with Delivery.
The drawer size is 1070mm width by 1460mm deep.
The OVANO drawer size is 1085mm by 1630mm
and costs £2070 delivered.
The hunt/decision continues…….

Have you seen the UAO vid where he talks about the self build possibilities.?

Yes I have. Makes more sense of the cost 3-4 sheets of the ply, fixings, drawer runners, router bits etc. 3 days labour @ £250 etc. comes out at around £1800.00

Quality video and it’s so true mines been a godsend as a tradesman! I bought mine second hand and like he says they have a good resale value! I to thought about making my own but there’s no way you could make it to same standard for the £500 everyone’s talking about plus the days I would lose at work! Plus would be hard pushed when selling it on as a DIY build!

I did think of buying new but second hand made more sense and they are generally looked after I empty mine once a month and give it a good clean and comes up like new again
