Paint Issue - too fussy?

I purchased a 2022 T6.1 that I knew had a little paint done (had viewed and asked for a couple of dings / scratches to be sorted by what seems to be a very careless previous owner). The work was completed and looked fine when I picked it up, however now I’ve had it a week or so I’ve noticed a section where the finish is poor. I’ve asked for this to be sorted but yet to hear back (VW main dealer who used an independent paint shop).
Where do I stand here as I accepted it as satisfactory on collection, but only noticed a week or so later and am I being too fussy here - have asked a couple of others who say it wouldn’t concern them but now I know it’s there I spot it every time I open the door…
Have a video which shows it better but can’t work out how to upload from phone!

Unfortunately I think general light scratches etc on any used car or van is something you have to accept - the general public don't normally take care of their vehicles, and I'm willing to bet if you really went over your paint you'd find plenty of other issues - be that swirling, orange peel, scratches, over spray etc etc.

I certainly wouldn't trust a VW dealer with getting paint corrected, if you're looking for a near perfect finish then you'll need to take the van to a specialist detailer. Swirled, scratched paint even on a few years old vehicles is seem as perfectly fine these days, because for 98% of customers, it is.

That’s an awful quality of work though, I’d question it if it was done specifically for your purchase?

But I doubt the dealer will care sadly.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if it has just had some hand polishing done and then a thick wax which hid the issue but then wore off in a week.

It is a poor job, however the other bits that were sorted are faultless so this section just lets the van down. This was the door before repair, when first viewed. Not holding out a great deal of hope in getting it rectified but may dig my heels in - if they have used an independent garage, it should be no problem to instruct them to rectify

Which bit of the door are we looking at?
From your original picture I thought it was these scratches here beside the handle?

But in those one there's an obvious dent just below this window

Yes, it’s the scratches that run below the dent a few inches each way. Must have run the filler towards the handle and done a poor job sanding it. Scratches are below the paint layer for sure

You can't upload video, too expensive to host on the forum, but you can add a link to most video hosting websites

That’s sinkage in the paint/primer… It usually happens a few weeks after painting then everything is fully cured, that’s why your probably just noticing it

That would be unacceptable to me. I would never get VW to paintwork. They mostly sub their minor paint work out on used vehicles, often to mobile paint / scratch repairer who never gets jia factory finish working from the back of a van. If you have signed the hand over sheet I think you will spend a long time arguing with the dealer.
If you want a perfect finish you may have to spend a little with a decent Bodyshop

Well, took it back - to be fair to the dealer no questions were asked and it went back to the bodyshop. Scratches beneath paint are now gone, but profile on the door is still incorrect and if anything it’s now slightly rippled too. Shocking work from what I assume is a professional bodyshop, honestly think I could do a better job myself. Come to the conclusion if I want it 100% I’ll probably just have to get it sorted myself

Did you inform the dealer as to your opinion of the work of their chosen bodyshop? They might not care, but they might just reconsider which outfit they use.

Not VW related but I bought a brand new transit custom back in 2004 which had an eyelash under the lacquer. Good ole Ford!
