Panel van cab divider.

Hi guys hope you had a good Christmas.

I’ve got a VW T6 panel van (builder’s spec) with front seats and a full bulkhead behind the seats. I’m about to get a dog, and I’m looking to remove the existing bulkhead and replace it with a mid-van bulkhead to create a separate section behind the seats for the dog. The rest of the van would remain as the main working cargo area.

Does anyone know of any mid-van bulkheads that would work with the T6, particularly ones suitable for vans with twin sliding doors on both sides?

Any recommendations or advice on where to find these or how to approach the modification would be much appreciated!
Thanks in advance! S

So these normally go behind the 2nd row of seats in a Kombi. You can also leave the bottom half of your steel bulkead in place and just remove the top section to stop the dog hitting the back of the front seats.

Great thank you Very much for the Iink, greatly appreciated. Good shout on leaving the lower part of the front bullhead in too. I’d have her up front when moving around, I just thought a nice area with the sliding doors open would be nice for when I’m working in a garden and doggo wants a rest inside. I’m also planning on gates from covering the sliding doors too from a company called Bargo. Do you know of any bulkhead alternative versions that are flat allowing more rear cab space? Thanks again for the reply

I converted the back of my Kombi for my dogs

Removed the seats and added puppy pen panels and gates to make up the cages - i needed the full cargo for 6 St Bernards

But there are also companies that do bespoke metal boxes for cars and vans - TransK9 springs to mind.. may be worth looking at them for a box that you could mount and secure near a door.

Or you could build a pen using two 1500 and 2 1000mm door panels -that go between the two doors and seperate out the load area.

I used panels and fixed plastic sheeting on the outside sections so its easier to clean and minimise hair into cab.

Some pics of mine

If you want more details I can send you who I bought panels from.
