Park Pilot Stopped Working

Had my T6 for 3 years and had no problem with the park pilot - when I put the van in reverse the camera would show the front and rear sensors and I would get an audible warning.
The camera on the radio screen has now stopped working and I only get the audible warning.
Anyone know what has caused this and how to rectify it??

Not really helping but having the van scanned for fault codes would probably be the best way ahead. I'm confident that something similar would show up to start with:

Anyways, resetting the radio by holding down the power button for 10-20 seconds --> until the unit restarts: VW logo etc. is certainly worth trying.

Hi

I have barn doors and if they are not shut properly the camera doesn’t come on only reverse sensors. I do get the rear door open illuminated on my display though. If this is any help

I get the same if the tailgate is not shut properly, parking sensors work but no camera

I think you have hit the nail on the head . I didn't realise the tailgate wasn't closed properly but on checking the tailgate the park pilot is now working

The shared knowledge on this forum is very helpful and powerful!!! That would have taken a vw tech 6 visits to work out and probably not fixed

Mine works about 30% of the time. It wasn't working when I parked up. I just nipped outside to reboot the unit and it works. Hopefully not just a coincidence.

And after the reboot the next time I got in the van the reversing camera wasn’t working again. Very strange

Did anyone get to the bottom
Of this as mines stopped working , tried the radio re set, making sure all doors closed correctly , checked getting 12v and when going in reverse but just a black screen and no camera footage . Sensors are working but no camera. Then about 2 times in the last 3 weeks it’s worked on the odd occasion .

Make sure your back door is shut properly, I get that if my (barn) doors aren’t fully closed seems to be a safety thing I guess

Tried that, tried updating the discovery media, and tried the battery off abs discharged
Don't suppose you managed to fix yours mate? I'm having same error, after having my pop top fitted (worried they might have nipped the cable but also could just be coincidental timing!)

In short no. In really cold weather during winter it worked intermittently so I think could be something to do with water ingress in the camera , or it’s getting an interrupted signal from the auto tailgate system

I have had the same thing after a pop top went on. Did you get to the bottom of it?
