PDC button backlight illumination.

I have recently had front PDC to compliment the rear fitted to my 12 reg T5.1 GP. The back light illumination does not work when the headlight switch is on auto. However when I use the side or manual lights the back light illumination works.

To fix the PDC button backlight problem, first, check the wiring for any loose connections. Then, make sure the PDC button is compatible with the automatic lighting system.

Yes the entire dash and buttons all light up when the auto lights turn on.

Sounds like who ever fitted it hasn't connected it to the ambient circuit correctly. Check the wiring at the switch. Pin 3 is the ambient lighting and should be piggy backed to the grey/blue wire on any adjacent switch. Pin 6 is the -ve for the ambient light and should be connected to ground or piggy backed to the brown wire on any adjacent switch.

The button should illuminate red with the ambient lighting and amber when PDC is active.
