Hi, looking for a reliable phone mount T6 not windscreen sucker ones, are any of the vent mounted ones any good please ..

thanks which one as they do a few, I find the the ones that just have 2 fingers to slide on the slats never grip properly.

I have a vent mounted grip but I find that the phone overheats on it from heat getting out through the vent even when the heating is selected to the floor if windscreen. My phone is an old iPhone XR and I have a magnetic rubber grip style that slides on the vent and a metal disc that sticks to the back of the phone inside the phone case. That doesn’t work well either as the phone routinely falls off as I drive (it works better if I take the phone case off ).

Got one of these from Amazon, I attach it to one of the vent slats, but various other options are provided. Works well.

I think they call it the magnetic boost charge or something.
It works perfectly with MagSafe devices

I use a Quadlock phone case.

In the van I have a vent mount which I find very convenient.

Quadlock is my preferred as I have handlebar mount on my motorcycle so it all works perfectly.

I have the Brodit mount that goes above the centre vent (655135) paired with a MagSafe charger (of Amazon). Works great and is very solid. Great viewing position and doesn’t get in the way of the vent, but the mount does go over the dash top charging port (no issue for me as the leads still fit).

Here is mine with bulldog clip for parking tickets. One advantage of being in the middle is that SWMBO can also see the satnav - often a benefit when in unfamiliar territory or she has organised the itinerary!

Here’s the charging Quadlock. Don’t have to twist it - it’s magnetic. Never ever falls off even in crazy terrain. Used to have a MagSafe one but it fell off too often.

Looks huge in this photo but it isn’t - it’s just the perspective.

I've been using it a lot, actually every time I get in the van :) Because of the shape of the jaws and the size/shape of the plastic piece it grips in the dash, the unit droops down. If you drive anywhere it'll bounce up and down. I cut a piece of plastic, actually an offcut from some plastic...
