Planar Comfort control install issue

I have a Planar diesel heater - installed by the excellent Planar Pete - with a PU27 controller, plus separate modem.

Last year I bought a Comfort control thinking that it would be a simple ‘plug and play’ swap, but couldn’t get it to work in spite of removing and replacing the relevant fuse / fuses.

I just tried again and got a Code 30 ‘connection fault’ partly shown on the photo. Strangely, when I swap back to the PU27 that works.

Has anybody made the swap and, if so, can you offer advice?

Thank you.

Mike

I have had problems in the past with Fault 30 and comfort controller, I was advised by importer:

Check the connections are properly made in the plugs for the display cable. I've seen them come loose. A no connection as you are describing is pretty much always a problem with the cable connections.
Also

Low battery can also give any type of random error code so do make sure of that first too.

My first thing was to check continuity / resistance from pcb on back of controller to the main wiring connector Also pulling the main fuse can sort issues

My issue was because I removed the modem (for a firmware update), when reconnected it all worked fine again, and has done since
