Plywood thickness for boxing in wheel arches 9mm or 12mm?

I was going to box in my wheel arches in my day van. Intend to box in and create a handy storage area. Also rest a platform on top of new boxes to create a bed (but thats going to be further down the line). I was wondering if 9mm ply would do the job or should I go for 12mm?

If you're going to put any weight or sit on them then I'd go for 12mm

Hi @Dogleg T6er. Did you get this done? I'm thinking along the same lines. Thinking a box each side with a hinged lid so it would be great to see an example before I try.

Hi Howzat. Yes I completed them last year then carpet lined them only a couple of months ago. They look good and are really handy. I'll try and post some photo's later.
