Pop Top Bed - Better Mattress or Topper?

We have a wonderful T6 with a pop up but are struggling with the thin foam mattress - ideally would like one which we can leave up when we close the pop up but open to all suggestions and recommendations please
Thanks guys!

I've got a 2" memory foam mattress topper (single size) that I got from Amazon and leave up there all the time - very comfortable. Cheaper than the Duvalays that lots of people use, albeit they are supposed to be excellent.

Hi

Looked on duvalay website for a topper mattress to put up in pop top and leave there when it is down. Hefty prices. Wondering what others use and where to source. Cheers.

We use Zonesleep both top and bottom. Each to their own. There's not much room to leave a topper up there when the top's down. I've tried but felt it was hindering the full closure of the roof.

I have just given Zonesleep a call. Very friendly, though pricey - but you get what you pay for.
I need to go to St Ives in a few weeks to have solar panels fitted, I'm going to pop in to Zonesleep as they are not too far and have a look at the 2 options they have

Trail 5cm Double Self-Inflating Camping Mat

Got one of these for my son to use in the pop top. The foam inside expands when the valve is opened so that it self inflates. However air can be added to suit the user. Thick enough to be comfortable, thin enough to be left in place when the roofs down. Cheap too. Was so impressed with how comfy it was, I bought a second one for me and Mrs D to use on the rock n roll bed. Various colours and a thinner 2.5cm version available too. We have a double, 5cm in a fetching shade of purple.

Thanks for that DD! I've just ordered one. I have always had trouble sleeping and have spent over £1000 on a mattress at home before, but after a couple of years they all seem to lose their shape-and I'm not over-weight (much!). I know it can be false economy buying cheaper, but in the mattress world I've been stung before. Think I'll start at the lowest price and work my way up

@CRIBDUB , additionally, you could double it over and try it as a single but with twice the thickness. The instructions advise to lay it out, allow it to self inflate, repack and repeat 3 times before use. I'd recommend doing this. Seems to improve the speed at which it self inflates. Probably make a good mat in an awning too. Hope it works out for you, as it has for us.

hi guys
Our pop top mattress is not comfortable any ideas what I could put up there so I can sleep without needing a trip to the chiropractor when I wake up.

Cheers
Steve

Just the standard 58cm for me with a 4cm memory foam mattress. Very comfortable. Either on the downstairs Caravelle bed or on the roof board bed up top.

What one in there range do you all use?

Thanks for info
We use the 5cm sleeping bags as our all in 1 sleep solution, primarily downstairs on the RIB - too big for us to store upstairs with the roof (SCA 194) down but 2 roll up nicely to sit on the back shelf of the RIB for transport and/or during the day.

Hi all
Seeking some advice
We're new to campervanning
We've got a T6 with pop top
In colder months we slept downstairs
V comfy
Now it's warmer we're using the pop top and finding mattress a bit thin.
Need some kind of topper.
Don't fancy Duvalay..don't want to be tucked in.Happy with duvet , change tog rating when needed.

Any recommendations for a topper that could be left on top of existing one when pushing it back up.
Cheers
