Pop top canvas

Hi guys, I'm having Skyline fit a pop top to my van and I'm now torn between the vinyl and the cloth type material.
I love the forest green but that only comes as a cloth, so if I wanted vinyl it would have to be grey. I'm just concerned about the pros and cons of both considering the amount of money we're spending.
Does anyone have the skyline cloth material fitted and how is it going?

Hey Whitney! I have an Aurora with the grey vinyl, which I think is classed as a marine vinyl/canvas so very durable and waterproof. The only downside is that it is probably a bit more bulky when dropping the roof and tucking it all in. No problems with condensation overnight.

I had a a skyline on my first van with the marine vinyl in orange - no problems at all - some people complain that there is writing on the inside face

Thank you for your replies. I made a typo with regards to the material, I did mean the cloth one which I've now amended

But I was concerned with breathability and humidity with regards to the vinyl, especially if I'm planning to go abroad in the summer.
I would always go for canvas. It’s breathable, so it’s not running with water after you’ve been in it overnight.
Is it the cloth one you have? And how long have you had it?

I have a plasticy vinyl material. I was warned about it not being as breathable as the canvas but it was the only way to get the orange I wanted. It’s not been a problem in over 4 years. But we don’t sleep up there, and if it’s cold then I drop the bed board down to keep the main area of the van warm when we sleep.
So I’d say it depends on how you intend to use the van.
