Pop top: Keder awning rail installation. So many bolts. Advice?

Hello.

I've bought 2.4m of Keder awning rail to fit under my pop top support rail, expecting to have to undo only the 4 standard VW bolts to fit it. But my van has 8 bolts through the rail, and one unused standard VW bolt, making a total of 9. :-(

I'm very wary of undoing the bolts as I've no idea what they are bolted into. They could use free floating nuts, in which case, as I can't get to them from underneath the roof due to the conversion's fibreglass trim I'd have no way of retightening them if I loosened them.

I have no idea what to do. Can anyone offer any advice?

Thanks for reading. Photos of pop top support vat and Keder awning rail:

That's the pop-top frame..

That maybe nutand bolted through the roof?

Or they may have used tech screws that self tap?

What roof is it?

Maybe try to undo one bolt to see what it looks like?

Or take the van to a converter and get them to fit.

Or just go with a Vamoose style multi rail that sits in the van shoulder.

Thanks. To respond to your suggestions:

I don't want to loosen one of the bolts if there's no chance I'll not be able to do it up again.
There is only one company near me in East Sussex who might do this and they don't want to as they've never fitted one before.
I don't want a visible awning rail.
I've no idea what roof it is as there's no label, and I don't know who fitted it.

In a similar area.

Combe valley campers?

Seaside campers?

Coombe valley don't do small stuff like this and Bognor is a long way off. Seaside Campers I've not heard of. Will try to find them. Thanks.

Seaside campers are in battle near Hastings.

We went to see them a couple of weeks ago to check out some of their van furniture range.

Nice guys, smallish outfit but they were very busy and booked up for weeks and weeks in advance for bigger installs.

Very surprisingly I've found a camper and motorhome company only 7 miles away in East Sussex who say it will only take them 1-1.5hrs. Very professional, very friendly, been in the motorhome trade for decades and recommended to me by Coombe Valley Campers. Sadly their name does not do them justice as they do almost everything to do with campers and motorhomes (in fact I'm going to get electrical and gas safety certificates through them).

At least I can be sure my roof won't leak afterwards! :-)

Thanks for your help.
