Poptop issue

Something that's been on my mind for while, when I'm lay in the poptop, my body weight means the hatch won't slide shut. Is this normal?

Hatch might be the wrong description, the part that slides across to the front. I was hoping it would close to stop pillows falling out and give a bit of privacy

I have to move to one side to take the weight off the centre of the bed board to allow the slider to close more easily on my Skyline bed, I use a bolster pillow to take up the extra depth to the slider so my pillows don’t keep sliding away from my head.
I also added some stainless pins to the end of the slider that engage with the front headlining surround to support the front edge of the slider while it’s closed and I’m up there.

Sounds like it’s just the way they are then. I’ll try the moving to the side, even if I can get it to slide a foot it will make a big difference when sleeping. Thanks

I took off the lethal metal clip and attached a loop of nylon webbing with the loop uppermost, that way I can use it to pull the slider shut and open it again when it's closed and I'm upstairs.
