Possible to install 2 seater bench as in transporter shuttle?

Hello there....we have a 2017 vw caravelle.
I was just wondering if it's possible to remove the front captain seat in the front row and install the 2 seater bench as in the 9 seater vw shuttle? So that 3 people could sit in the front row including the driver.
Your opinions & suggestions appreciated.

The bench seat frame is just bolted down so I would have thought so if the mounting points are in the van

You also need to consider the front passenger airbag. A van with a single captain front passenger seat will have a single front passenger airbag. If you change the front passenger seat to a double you need to change the airbag to ensure the safety of your front passengers.

You might also find that there is not a lot of leg room for the 2nd passenger due to the comfort dash

I suspect this doesn’t help, but I’ve got a third row seat that I have in the middle of my California so my daughter sits between but slightly behind us. I guess it depends if you’re looking to get an additional passenger, or just to have a third person feel involved with the 2 up front!

Yea..its basically my daughters 8 & 9 years. As of now, they are fighting most times to sit in the front.

Might be worth trying a captains seat on the rail system in the middle? Those 2 seater benches aren’t the last word in comfort after using a single with arm rests
