Power sliding door not opening

Hi, I noticed that my passenger side power sliding door was not opening. I traced this issue down to a sticky lock mech that wasn't fully unlocking. Once unlocked it would work faultlessly. I've stripped down the mech in the door (7E0 843 653 AK), cleaned and re greased the parts inside. I've put it all back together and the lock works perfectly now. The problem I now have is that the door closed with the remote control and the power latching pulled the rear of the door in correctly. Now It would open by the remote and if I open mechanically the power latching opens and then closes again. the motor element to pull the door open doesn't engage. What have I done wrong?

Hi all, I’ve worked out this issue, got it all working again faultlessly and thought I’d share my findings. Basically within the lock module there’s a tiny microswitch that tells the power door motors if the door is locked or unlocked. The power latching is a separate systems and thus the door would come open from the handle but not track back. The microswitch had slipped to the side and thus was not saying that the door was unlocked. Reseating this microswitch and all is back to normal and working fine.

You can see in the above that the microswitch level has slipped to the side of the small microswitch nipple. Microswitch pressed in = unlocked. Hence the door module was not aware of when the door was unlocked.

Nicely done! Sounds like an issue I am having with mine - is it a bugger to get to the lock module ?

No fairly straight forward. Take your time with it and remove the 40amp fuse under passenger seat once the doors open so the door doesn’t try to close on you.
