Hi, I have a T6 Kombi, and will be traveling to the South of France next week with the family. It is a bit spur of the moment, so I dont have massive ammounts of time before I go, therefore I was wandering what you guys thought would be the bigest, quickest wins with sound proofing? I am planning on sound proofing the whole van as time goes on, but looking on where best to start for best results...

thanks

Hi ...if you’ve got a tailgate ( or doors. For that matter) and can get hold of a roll of dodo fleece...remove the panels and put the fleece in ..it’ll act as sound deadening and once your ready to do a proper job you can then reuse it as thermal insulation ..I’d also use it around the wheel arch behind the panels....use like you do for loft insulation ( but what ever you do don’t use the house stuff ) ;)

I recentky asked my cousin who owns one of the top recording studios in the country about sound insulation and he looked over a few videos and photos of vans etc. The mai. Take away was that the silver backed sticker silentcoat stuff is designed for absorbing panel vibration / resonance and anything over 50% applied is not worth it and wil just add weight. Air gaps will be a ingress if noise . Door seals etc. And that a good product to use is a soundproofing felt. There’s a company in Rochdale that make it.I’ll try and find a link. Heavy rubber MaT for the floor. Hope that helps.
