Rear air con - worth it?

Another question.

Does anyone have the app extra option of a electronically controllled separate air con control for the rear?

Just wondering if it's worth the extra £300. I'm thinking it may keep the kids from complaining they're too cold or too warm.

We have a T6 Caravelle Exec (ie with standard fit rear Climatronic a/c).

We drove back from the Dordogne during a heat wave at the end of July (upto 38c on the dash temp display) - the problem was the rear a/c just wouldn't function so we had the front a/c on Lo Max fan to keep the kids cool. It was not a good experience as it was noisy and cold in the front and if I moved the temp from Lo to 18c the shouting from the back soon started.

I have to get ours fixed. We are looking at getting a new T6.1 - and could not contemplate life without the rear a/c...

It's the temp difference between the front and the rear that I was worried about so I've added the option to my van. I thought it would be useful, can't have the little ones screaming the odds.
