Rear Interior Lights timeout Query

Hello all,
I know this may have been posted at some point but struggling to find the answer. We have 4 spot lights and the door switching option kit from Travelvolts, wired into the original wiring loom for the interior lights.

1. When we lock the doors and the lights are switched to permanently on, the interior lights do not come on at all, including the cab light. Is this normal on a T6?

2.If we stay in the van at night (unlocked) with the lights off, in the morning we are unable to switch them back on, again including the cab light. We can press the unlock button again to turn them back on.
We can however leave the lights in the permanently on state for well over an hour/nearly two with the door shut.

I roughly understand that there is a relay controlling the interior lights but i though the permanent on option wasn't on a timer? and with our test if the lights are on they seem to stay on for hours.

Any help would be great. Early next year we are going leisure battery but would like to solve this for now :)

The interior lights are turned off after a set time to stop the battery being flattened. What you’re seeing is completely normal

If tapping into the factory lighting circuit the positive is removed after a set period (also when you lock the vehicle) to stop the battery going flat if lights are accidentally left on
If you don’t want them to behave like this I think you only option would be to introduce a permanent positive supply to the circuit so you have full control over them but if you don’t have a leisure battery and power them from engine battery you run the risk of not being able to start the van if you leave them on accidentally (although this would take a significant period to flatten the battery)

Ok, Thanks for your help all. I think i'll run a new permanent feed from for now until the leisure battery install next year.
I'll have a search on here for best place to take a feed from

Following on from this I'm also having problems with lights in my T6. I have wired into the existing wiring loom for the lights in the rear of my van. All was well until two weeks ago, state of play is thus. When i unlock the doors with the key fob the lights do not come on (they used to) when I plug the keys in the ignition they do but not every time. Tonight I got out light came on locked it up light went out, went to unlock again nothing. Please help, going mad. Thanks stuart

First thing to try is a BCM reset by disconnecting the main batterys for an hour or so.... then retest.

If you still have a issue it's time to scan for codes and start using a multimeter to measure powers and grounds..... it could just be a corroded or loose connection.
