Rear windows - opening or one piece and fit additional air con unit?

Hi all
I am struggling with deciding on opening windows or one piece. I can see that one piece windows should be more secure and less likely to leak, but do I then need aircon in the back or will the forward unit be able to cool that space effectively?
I would be interested in others’ experiences - I didn’t find a thread that covered this question.
Thanks in advance!

Hi - I converted panel to a kombi with fixed glass in the back - main reason for the conversion was to take kids out on the bikes - travel to the beach etc (not camp)

If camping I would probably have slider but I read so many threads about leaking windows and in our other car we keep them all shut when the aircon is on so went for the fixed - no complaints so far and no leaks but the drive is maX 3 hrs

hope it help

Seems ok at the moment mate - haven’t done long distances in the heat Though tbh - can always open the front windows to let a bit of air in when you just set off

We’ve got a LWB Shuttle and the front air con struggles to cool the entire cabin down, in the rear it just blows ambient air but can heat it in winter. Eventually it will cool it but it can literally take an hour, we’ve done quite a few 4hr+ drives this year.

If I was buying again I would look for a van with rear air con. the rear windows would provide a breeze but when it’s hot I don’t think you can beat having good aircon.
