Rear Wiper Motor

Hi

Just been quoted £450 to replace a seized rear wiper motor on a Caravelle.
is this a tricky Diy job?
I figure I need to remove the tailgate lining and swap out.
just wondering if the part which is under £100 would need coding or that kind of thing to the electrics or is it just receiving and on/off signal from the brain?
also, lf theres any special pullers etc needed that would be good to know.

many thanks

The motor is £40 on Ebay and 15 minutes to fit.

You need to have a puller for the wiper - £8 ebay

Just did one yesterday on my NEW Transporter - since it was intermitently working.... and was not sure it was the motor or an issue caused as a result of fitting reverse camera..... Was the motor.

So £50 in bits and 15 minutes.

Basically pull off the plastic cap at the end of the wiper arm - Pulls up and to the right

Undo the 13mm Nut holding wiper to spindle

Pull the washer Nozzle from the end of the motor with a pliers.

Use the puller and pull the wiper from the shaft

Then - working inside Van

Pull outwards the rear cover - (on 2 push fit studs) and then lift it up towards the glass - to remove cover

Press in the tabs on the 4 pin electrical connector and pull the connector out.

Undo the 3 10mm Nuts holding the motor to the door.

Unclip the washer pipe - pull off the square U and pull off the pipe.

Pull the motor towards you wiggling it out of the glass.

Thats it...

Then reverse with the new motor.
