Hi

I have a newish T6 lwb T30 I'd like a bespoke professional full conversion. Key features are:
Pop top, heater, sliding rear seat Cali or Reimo or similar, sink, hob, as many tanks as possible under slung, swivel captains chairs, leather upholstery, speakers in rear.

Which companies have people used please and any feedback.
I'm look for a high standard bespoke product that will last 15 years or more.

Where are you based ? It will be easier for you if you pick someone closer to home.

Pete

Good point!
In Bristol but im happy to go 3 hours plus for the right company though. I'm only getting this built once so it makes sense to spend a bit of time travelling to discuss the project.

Contact Clough at Uberbus, they did ours and do great work - although they are always busy which can give some scheduling challenges.

Bodans, Rolling homes, starlight campers, dirty weekender, all midlands based and all do very good work within 3hrs of you. Depending how soon you want it and to save a lot of running around, I would highly recommend visiting one of the many Camper ’shows’ and chatting to the companies and owners of their conversions.

I have to recommend MAL VW in Cornwall, not the cheapest but fantastic attention to detail.

It’s a good idea to have a close look at the various conversions as quality and fit/finish does vary.

Give Ady a call at Crystal Custom Campers in Leeds https://crystalcustomcampers.com
He does Hilo roofs mainly, hand-built furniture and has his own M1 tested slide rail system that is more affordable than reimo variotech / rib slider and also sits lower than those to compliment the hilo roof. No dangling feet :) understand their is a deal on for free scenic canvas, colour coded roof and chrome hinges if you book a hilo roof with him before 31 January. Also doing free propex system fitting with every slide system ordered. I am having mine done next month with him.

I second this. Looked for a long time at various options and Matt’s work is of a high standard. Admittedly, I’m still due to pick mine up (Feb) but I’m confident we won’t be disappointed given all the research I’ve done

We live in Stirlingshire, and despite the distance involved, went with Exploria in Brighouse on the basis of a recommendation from a friend. If price is the key driver, look elsewhere, but for a quality job and sound advice, consider them. They fit the Cali seat, which is excellent, and also have their own swivel bases which don't raise the height of the seats unlike many.

We also had all the seats retrimmed in leather, to our specific design. Underslung water tank, rear speakers, heater, Reimo pop-top, custom placement of power outlets etc etc etc. The quality of the work is awesome, and attention to detail first rate.

Vandoc of Inkberrow Worcestershire. I've seen good reviews and @DaveyB seemed very impressed by his skills and knowledge regarding the Hilo roof whilst at campermart this weekend.

I did a tonne of research, went with AJC Conversions in Glossop. Felt my T6 was in safe hands & am very pleased with the results. All to time (slot allocated on waiting list) & good communication. Nice family firm. Prices for every item are on the website.

Before you travel far get a commitment on how long it takes to get a firm quote.
Also look at a California and compare total costs......
It worked out cheaper for me to get a pre reg Cali than converting a combo and I now feel I got a better van

I am sure you will be as delighted with your van as we are with ours! He was great for us as he is only down the road and that made it so easy to discuss designs etc. I even snuck a look when he had just cut the roof off... very frightening!

I know I am biased, but to date I still have not seen another van that is as well finished or as thought through as his conversions.

I am looking forward to some photos of yours soon!

We have a T30 LWB - had it converted by Rolling Homes in Shrewsbury.
Rear placed kitchen with Tailgate roof and Rear opening SCA roof.
Ex standard of work but be prepared for a wait ( 3 months ) for conversion.
Worth going to see their outfit as high standard of fittings - choices of layouts - hardwood units.
Good luck and whoever you go with...... it will bring 15 years plus of sheer smiles and miles
:D

Exploria seconded....first rate.

Highly recommended Vanworx, they are currently converting my t6 and there work is Vw accredited and to a very high standard.

I can recommend Ecowagon. We collected our T6 LWB conversion from them last week and they did a fantastic job. We checked out half a dozen converters before choosing them since the quality of their work was a notch above the others. They're about a 2 hour drive from Bristol. Our conversion is Reimo rear elevating roof, rear cabinets fridge, cupboard toilet on one side and hob and sink on the other. Waste and hot water tanks under the flow and cold water tank under the Rib seat. They will do a bespoke design whereas other converters won't. They do a SWB conversion which has sliding rear seats.
