Remap ..... Just Can’t Decide On Which One

First time the wick was turned up so high it was really skittish; so took it back they looked at the sheets and said “um that’s not quite right”, so had another go, the power was better but the rate at which it went through it’s fuel was as though there was a hole in the tank. It was something like 100miles less across the course of a tank full.
Interesting! Oh well maybe Pendle / Revo are the ones then! :D

I am so stoked by my Revo remap. Haven’t used them before yet always had VAG vehicles and several have been remapped.

well my friend has just had his 2018 T6 remapped and adblue delete (naughty)
said im not bothered it goes like stink !

Hi all, very interesting g read this thread. Goldie has only just done 12k miles and had its first service but I’ve been itching to get a re-map since I got it, but warranty concerns have stopped me.

Can anyone confirm categorically that the Revo re-map won’t affect the warranty? And if I were to have any warranty issues would the car need the map deleting and reverting to standard before I took it in to VW????

Having recently just put the van in for a service and asked for the rear Fader to be enabled on the headunit, they couldn’t even do that, or reset the ‘oil service now’ on the dash, so I doubt they would notice a re-map (Snows VW Commercial Plymouth).

Having read the reviews I’m now really keen to get the re-map done!

I don't think anyone will put their name to guarantee a remap won't affect warranty. Some say it will and some say they won't. Personal choice really.
I've had the pendle re-map, and risked not having any issues, and touch wood i haven't. I know it doesn't make financial sense but i haven't taken my vans to snows for servicing and hopefully i don't have to deal with them ever again. Every thing is a ball ache and its a lottery as to who you deal with and the answers you receive. I have Carista. If you want your service re - set give me a shout.
Not sure but some other Jedi members might be able to answer wether Carista can do the fader also.

What you need to equally consider is that even if the map is deleted, they can still see that it was there. Be worth talking to Revo HQ about your concerns and see what they say.
When it comes to warranty, it has to be proven that the alterations that you have made have contributed to the failure. Therefore if it is the high level rear brake light that is leaking and needing replacement, they can’t refuse to do so on the basis that you have had a remap.
I think some remapping companies may even cover the warranty with an insurance style product.

Thanks for the info gal2009.

I would certainly take the van elsewhere, if they can do the work and maintain the warranty, Snows of Plymouth were vastly overpriced and useless.

I’m taking the van back to get it reset and complain!

As for the remap, I get that it’s pot luck and some dealers turn a blind eye, but I was more concerned if the map was deleted and returned to standard then could they prove it had been reflashed or just see the file history had a write/rewrite in the log which in essence means they have to honour the warranty.

Almost no one upgrades brakes, suspension, gearbox or anything to deal with the extra power;
I agree, however, my T30 and its brakes was designed and built to carry over 900KG of cargo, I rarely have 100KG in it, so the brakes are way over specced for my pottering about with a couple of sheets of ply in the back. I need the space more than the weight carrying capacity, so remapping mine from 140 to 175 for a more relaxed drive is perfectly safe without upgraded brakes.
That's a very different case to remapping a car so that you can achieve greater performance and drive faster.

Agree, plus that ‘former member’ would start a fight in a room on his own, every forum he’s ever been on he has subsequently been banned from.

A relative of my partner has a garage in Gillingham and is a superchips dealer
Most people seem to recommend Pendle or Revo, your the first time I have seen anybody suggest Superchips.
There must be reasoning behind that.

I've used Superchips for the last 20 odd years. Plus they now come to you via Remap Kings. They are claiming 186 horsepower for the 150, which I think is stretching things a bit. My 150 feels like it has been turned up to 12 from 1500 revs onwards with no noticeable affect on fuel consumption when driven normally.

186 may be a stretch for superchips but it's not for Revo or pendle, they appear in order of personalisation in that sentence

Revo all the way for the T6. Smoothest maps around. And you get a 30 day money back guarantee - so you effectively get to try before you buy - we’ve never had to give anyone their money back.

I think @Eclipse Campers is right on your doorstep - go and see him
