Remote Control Of Windows And Door Locks

SO... this morning I was woken by someone telling me my van had been broken into.:(

At first glance, it looked as if someone had gotten in through the cabin windows as both were open.
however, it was locked.. and the alarm was still on waiting for anyone who tampered to set it off ....it had also been pouring with rain and the interior was pretty soaked.. seats and doors...

At this point, it occurred to me about the remote option to press and hold the key to open the cab and windows HOWEVER it was also locked... so its a total mystery.. unless by some complete fluke i accidentally pressed and held down the open button on the key.. for the full duration to fully open the windows then pressed once on the lock button to lock the doors but not long enough to close the windows !!!! and if this did indeed happen, it happened from the other side of the house where my bedroom is... I tried it and it is possible.. wow the range of that key is amazing and very worrying...

Thing is I don't see how that could possibly have happened as I came in last night locked the van and put my keys on a table and didn't touch them...

has anyone else experienced anything like this ??
Personally I didn't even know I could do the remote window thing until I bought CARISTA and saw the setting was on as default...

should i take the doors apart to get rid of any water or do they have a way the water can drain out safely? the speaker grills are clearly wet

I'm changing the remote window setting today BUT I'm also worrying that somehow this happened and its nothing to do with my set of keys.. an electrical fault perhaps...its so damn strange that the windows came down and stayed down BUT it was locked.. as far as I can tell THAT is only possible by one long press on the open button then one short press on the lock button..

press and hold lock/unlock is a "comfort function" that will open or close all windows and sunroofs and is enabled by default

sticky button in remote?

sat on keys?

try using your other second key for a couple of weeks....

dont worry about doors, they have drainage.

Happened the same to me twice and it peed down for hours as well plus have had the heater switched on. I have since made covers for my van and heater remotes to stop it happening. Mine was done by the dog being on my lap with the key and heater remote being in my pocket. I am surprised that there is nothing on the market hard cover wise for these remotes. ( Not that I have found to date)
Continuous rain isn't good for the leather on the doors and seats!

The doors will auto re-lock if you unlock them and then don’t open a door.

So, if you did sit on the key, it would unlock, open the windows, wait 30 seconds (assuming a door isn’t opened) and then relock (with deadlocks).

Annoying, but hopefully it wasn’t someone snooping about with your van.

Agreed, but I’d rather it deadlocked the doors than left them unlocked! ;)

I’ve done the same myself with a car. Got up and the windows were wide open. Interior sodden!

Thanks. (Frantically looks for local vcds user.)
yes, use carista I switched the open window option off today, it was using carista that made me realise the setting was possible... I thought wow that's cool ! until this morning when i realised it was not cool at all :(
