Hi all,

Want to remove curtains to give a good clean. Bugger to get hooks off little rails.

Does anyone know a better way? If not does anyone know how to take whole ‘frame’ out? Would that help?

Pics for context

If was going to do from scratch, yes, would do shades, but as is, can’t justify swapping all out. But don’t know if need to take whole frame out to remove and re install curtains, anyone got any guidance/ tips?

Depends on the manufacturer. The ones I had, the frames were screwed in. There were 3 options to remove the curtains.
1. Take off on of the end caps, usually screwed in and slide the curtains out with eyelets attached. Obviously, both top and bottom rail.
2. Unclip curtain from each eyelet....long and boring task.
3. The eyelets can be twisted out from the rail with a 90' turn

Hope this helps

So this morning had a quick play.

Eyelets definitely don’t turn 90 to allow removal from rail.

The end of the rails abut the surround so I can’t slide off the end.

There appears to be four big screws in frame (bottom and top). Removed one thinking would allow some play in that area, zero movement afforded. Could they be secured some other way?

Appreciate any thoughts

Just for future folk in this position. Managed to remove all but one set of curtain frames. Secured into metal with four long screws. Could not remove set behind kitchen. Too embedded. I will settle for having cleaned most curtains
