Hi folks, I’m after sOme expert advise please. I am about to embark on trying to sound deaden the cab floor as have been quite £250 to install the silent coat I have already purchased, so going to do myself. Can I just unplug the seat, unplug the electric without any issues and warning lights coming on? Assuming make sure ignition is off so no airbag issues? When I unclip the hand brake will it near retensioning after?

Any tips would be so gratefully received!!

IMO you dont need to worry too.much about every little bit of floor.
Remove the seats, unclip the fuse housings and then remove the seat bases.
When i did mine I worked around everything that was more hassle than I needed to remove
.. somethings are obvious but If I could work under or around it then i did.

Brilliant thanks Fish! I’m guess the handbrake isn’t an issue then. Found a good video From Kira vans that seems to make it look pretty simple. Fingers crossed!

Handbrake is pretty simple of detach from the floor and move to one side..if you want to cover under it.
I also found it helpful to remove all the lover dash panels to get high up bulkhead as possible.

I have proberly gone over the top with my sound deading but that was my choice.. each to their own..

Great advice again Fish. Is it just a firm pull to get the footwell covers off? Definitely want to get as far up the bulkhead as I can.

Did a dynomat rep throw up in your van @Fish?

Ha, just a good good deal struck on boxes of 5 mate.
Gonna have to find that deal myself, bearing in mind how blinking loud the van is since ripping all the lining, panels and seats out.

I’m not going to do this again, I went nuts on my T5, getting all the cab carpet, seats, bases, everything out and covering every square mm in dynamat followed by close cell foam - Made bugger all difference! In fact my T6 without anything is already quieter than my T5 after I’d done all that work. Most of the road/engine noise I hear now comes through the front windows oddly

Passenger side will just pull out if i remember but the drivers side as a couple of screws holding it, best look before you start pulling to hard ;)
I also covered these panels why i had them off as it all helps. Made a difference in the cab IMO
