I had a whole bunch of abs/ tyre warning etc light appear and carista reported rear right abs sensor faulty. I replaced it with a vw oem WHT003856C. It is the same as the original part number except it has a c on the end. The old one had no revision letter. I thought this was just a revision number so would be fine. Now I am getting carista code C101D4A Right Rear ABS Wheel Speed Sensor - Incorrect Component Installed

Would replacing the nearside with the rev c one help
(i have it but haven't put it on yet. I only have street parking so its quite difficult so stopped after the side with the code hoping it would be sorted.

Any help very much appreciated.

Update: I tried fitting the other side but that just came up with the same code too.

Not sure how to proceed. Part number from the old sensor is 10.0711-5272.3 and WHT 003 856. It is branded Ate with a small VW stamp. The new sensor I tried, but that gives the incorrect component fault, was WHT003856C. I'm now at a loss as to which part to order. I cannot find the original part number anywhere without some sort of revision and since rev c didn't work why would nay other?

It's the wrong part (for MQB platforms & T6.1). The letter suffix doesn't always mean it's a newer version of the same thing. The latest revision of the part you need is WHT003856D

Is it a main dealer only part to ensure no more issues or am I safe getting something like:this
Any of them will be fine, you might even find a genuine new one on ebay for not a lot if you search the original part number.

If I was buying aftermarket then Bosch would be my choice or ATE who make the OEM part.
