Replacing leaking side window, time required.

Hi folks.
As part of my ongoing conversion I am replacing both leaky side windows.
I am going to use a cheesewire type tool to remove the old windows. This will leave a residue. How do I remove this residue and how long should it take?
I am fed up of waiting for a fully dry day and want to crack on.

How did you get on removing the windows? I’m planning the same at some point and not sure how to cheese wire the top and bottom as the channel for the sliding glass seems to block access.

Other than a scraper and some elbow grease, there's acetone and other things which will help. Naturally avoid anything which eats paint, petroleum based products.
