Replacing my rear tyres again??

After some advice.

My rear tyres were replaced in March last year I bought eagle F1 and had them fitted.

Since then I’ve covered approx 5000 miles give or take and now both are less than 1mm tread and needing to be replaced again.

My van is lowered and I have rear wheels which are staggered, understand my tyres may have been poor quality previously but researching and paying for Goodyears tell me that it’s more of a setup issue maybe?

I don’t want to be resolving these every few thousand as I find that ridiculous really.

Any advice you can offer is greatly welcomed ?

Specialists will hopefully shed some light seems very excessive wear for rears

Is the wear even?
If not, more in the middle (over inflated) more on outsides (under inflated) or more on one side (suspension setup) ??

Get a decent 4 wheel alignment done, ‘Hunter’ are one of the best, unless you are very low they should be able to get the rear within tolerance without adjustable bushes, it will be the best £80 you spend. Mine is -90mm and get 12K + out of tyres IMG_4122.jpeg

Am quite low to be fair but must be able to get better than current milage.

Otherwise I’ll be buying a new set of wheel and lifting I think

Both tyres look quite Even to be fair
I mean on the individual rear tyres. If you look at one tyre is the wear even across the tread, or is more on one side of the tyre or more on the outer edges or more in the middle?
@Tron6.1 makes a very valid point about alignment to check the toe is correct so if you've never had it done it's worth a try once you fit new tyres.

First set of tyres I had worn perfectly even across each tyre but also went evenly back to front so had to replace all 4 tyres in one hit after about 12k. Never had to do that before and it hurt!

Annoyingly, these seem of been overinflated as all worn in the middle even though they were inflated to the same pressures as the first set. Now under inflated to try to wear the edges more but I’m pretty sure that is the definition of a false economy!

Almost makes me want my company car back so I can just phone up the lease company and them arrange a mobile fitter to come round at their cost. Or maybe not

I got 20,000+ miles out of my Goodyear Eagle rears on a 90mm drop and they still had 5mm tread across the whole width, mines a 4-Motion too.

The only reason I changed them was because they were perished and cracks had appeared in the tread grooves. (Which reminds me, I’m not happy about their premature demise so I’m going after Protyre for some compo)

I do have Powerflex adjustable front/rear bushes and a good Hunter alignment after fitting.

None of that tyre wear stuff matters, it looks the nuts and that's all that counts :D

Seriously though a good alignment should be ok, you probably dont need adjustable bushes if the wear isn't pronounced in one particular area of the tyre.

I can concur what @BognorMotors says. I had a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres fitted by Oli on 26 October 2021 to date I've done 20509miles and the rears are just about ready to be changed. I changed the fronts in October last year for a smaller profile, not sure on the mileage then but there was plenty of tread on them. Definitely get them Hunter aligned. It's worth every penny.

Take a measurement from the centre of the wheel to the top of the rear wheel arch , from this info we can establish how low you are , it looks very low and no amount of wheel alignment will sort this out , Something needs to change

What suspension kit do you have and what is the spec of that kit in lowering terms
It might just be the angle of the picture but, it looks like you have a lot if toe in on that rear wheel.
The rear wheels do toe in when the back is too low ,

Rear wheel centre to top of arch is 34cm

Can’t see what make coil overs they are, they are blue in colour as are the springs of that helps?

Rear tyres are wearing slightly more on the inside than outside but even in the middle.

Probably van slams, with them having blue dampers + springs.
