Resurrect your favourite old motor

My Nova GTE was great fun

Also had a Mazda 626 2.0 gti 2 door coupe rear wheel drive on a G reg bought off my uncle which he didn’t want to sell me as was only 19! He said it’s rare and fast don’t wreck it! I remember ringing the insurance company and them telling me do you realise there’s only 2 of these on the road in this country! When I eventually sold it it took all of 2 hours to sell!

Still got my favourite old motor. It's a 40k mile show queen, not seen rain since 2010.

Never been a petrol head, I like a car to start when I want it to and stop when I want it to, as long as it does that it is fine by me.

But... Many years ago I bought my Father in Law's 1977/78 Vauxhall VX4/90 from him when he went for something newer. What a machine! 2.3 litres of grunt that pushed you back into the seat with the slightest of pressure from the right foot. No power assisted steering though, we took it down to the South of France and back and went through the mountains, I had the shoulders of a power lifter when we got back.

I see that there are possibly only 4 of these still registered in the UK... Maybe I should have dealt with the rotten wings, which were bolt-on after all, and kept it??

I still fondly remember my old Subaru Legacy Spec B...

Sold it in 2019 and it's still going strong judging by recent MOT tests!

Looked like any old Subaru estate but it had proper AWD, 245bhp from a flat 6 3.0l engine, and an auto box.

Shifted well! Especially in the wet, away from the lights, with 4x blokes on board!

But, getting 25mpg was good, and the ride was stupidly hard.

I do love me a fast, understated estate.
